Abstract

These work analyze Guillermo O'Donnell's legacy on Democracy, agency and state attending to his mains ideas in the academic production. O'Donnell's works constitutes an important political theory treated, in order to generate new comparatives perspectives. In order to these, the main contributions on democracy and the state, its historicization, the state of law and its implications on citizenry, his ideas on Latin America democracy and the discussions around Delegative Democracy, and the conclusions on his main concerning and motivation: democratization as a construction without boundaries. His legacy endures untouched on the social sciences agenda, confirming his unique capacity to articulate diverse paradigms and contributions, to propose concepts and theories about them.
