Integral practices is a path to be taken by the academy in the attempt to transcend the paradigm of split functions and transference extension as an uncritical practice of linking with the community. The article analyzes some of the descriptors that characterize the format of comprehensive practices, understanding them as a way of integrating functions, knowledge, disciplines in a situated learning space that privileges the territory and contact with the community under a dialogic, multi–actor, interdisciplinary and intersectoral perspective where it is possible to collectively build meaning. In this sense, some devices are proposed and described that allow objectifying this type of experience. It is argued that a format of this nature contributes not only to the training of future professionals committed to the community, but also to the possibility of transformation of universities in the society in which it is inserted.
