Abstract
BREGANNI, Roberto A.. Emma Barrandéguy, destructora de mitos. Espejismos de lo raro y lo queer. Taco brea [online]. 2023, n.18, e0112. ISSN 2362-4191. http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.14409/eltaco.2023.18.e0112.
This article proposes an approach to the ways of reading dissent in the novel Habitaciones by Emma Barrandéguy, a story in which memory orders the birth and ramification of an erotic search, built by someone who thinks of a place of subordination but that, from there, strategically exercises criticism of what subordinates it. Published in 2002, although written in the 1950s —long before sexual dissent was theorized— the novel deals with reflections on freedom and sexuality, building a testimonial fiction of transgression and opposition, which earned it critical criticism. I inscribed it in the Argentine literary tradition as one of the first queer novels. From this framework, we propose to consider that they allow to build some questions that are part of the debates on traditions and ruptures, relations between textuality and sexuality and between body and writing.
