Resumen
CISTERNA, Clara E y MON, Ricardo. Episodios diastróficos ordovícicos registrados en las sucesiones volcánicas - sedimentarias del Tremadociano temprano en el norte del sistema de Famatina. Rev. Asoc. Geol. Argent. [online]. 2014, vol.71, n.3, pp.393-403. ISSN 0004-4822.
This study is focused on the analysis of the Las Angosturas section (27°42´10.2´´ - 27°42´10.4´´ S and 67°57´20.5´´ - 67°56´54.8´´ W), sierra de Narváez, northern Famatina System, where a volcanic - sedimentary sequence of early Tremadocian age crops out. Basic and felsic lavas, intercalated with massive and laminated sandstones and siltstones, locally hosting graptolitic levels. In the sedimentary rocks were recognized S0 primary layering and other S1 discontinuous cleavage, but the better developed structures are the superimposed folds P1 and P2. This complex structure, including polyphasic deformation of beds, contrasts with the simple structure of the Arenigian successions. The detailed study of these structures suggests the presence of more than one tecto - magmatic event during the Lower Ordovician in the Famatina System.
