Resumen
LIS, Camilo et al. Uso de fármacos antihipertensivos en pediatría: ¿Existe evidencia suficiente?. Arch. argent. pediatr. [online]. 2004, vol.102, n.5, pp.364-376. ISSN 0325-0075.
The report of the second Task Force on Blood Pressure Control in Children has set out guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure in children. An individualized approach is recommended for an appropriate therapy, including in each case the choice of the most suitable antihypertensive agents. An analysis on the rational basis to the antihypertensive drug selection in pediatrics is presented. Usually, antihypertensive therapy in children is characterized by a lack of well-designed randomized controlled trials. Therefore, evidence is scarce and of low quality. However, new regulations are encouraging pharmaceutical companies to carry out studies in children to explore drugs indications in pediatrics.
