BERROTARAN, Denise Reyna. The institute of americanist studies of the National University of Córdoba and its representations of Deán Funes. Folia [online]. 2022, n.44, pp.115-132. ISSN 0325-8238. http://dx.doi.org/10.30972/fhn.0446009.
The Instituto de Estudios Americanistas (IEA) was a space that formed historians in Córdoba with the aim of promoting places of intellectual sociability with academic legitimacy in Córdoba. This institute, created in 1936, had the purpose of finding methodological, thematic, and conceptual guidelines that would sustain a tradition that seemed to have been initiated by other historians of Córdoba such as, for example, Pablo Cabrera. Its term over time contributed to the specialization and led to the professionalization of the discipline. Among the multiple documentation found in the Institute we should mention its periodical publications, which remained during almost all its existence. In these publications we can observe, by different members of the IEA, the reiterated presence of the figure of deán Funes. Therefore, it is interesting to analyze the interpretations of the figure of Funes and question the role that he played in the writings of the IEA. In this article we will focus primarily on a selection of publications written by historians belonging to the IEA.
