Resumen
MOYA, M. Isabel et al. Temporal variation in a Bolivian montane Yungas forest bat fauna. Mastozool. neotrop. [online]. 2008, vol.15, n.2, pp.349-357. ISSN 0327-9383.
We studied temporal variation in species richness and abundance of bats of three trophic guilds: frugivorous, insectivorous, and nectarivorous, over 25 months in a Montane Yungas Forest of Bolivia. Species richness and abundance of frugivorous and nectarivorous bat was greater in dry season than in wet season, whereas insectivore bats were better represented in wet season. These temporal variations could be related to seasonal availability of feeding resources for these guilds. As shown in this study, long term studies are crucial to establish temporal variation in order to have a better view of the assemblages of bats inhabiting Andean Montane Forest.
