MEDEIROS DE ALMEIDA, Rejane Cleide y DIAZ HABRA, María Del Huerto. Social cartography: narratives, memories and conflicts. Territorio Alijilán, Santiago del Estero‐ Argentina. Trab. soc. [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.37, pp.49-60. Epub 01-Jul-2021. ISSN 1514-6871.
The objective of this article is to present the results of the research on territorial conflicts in the Alijillan community, Santiago del Estero (Argentina). The methodology developed was oral history with interviews about the first residents who arrived in the territory and the territorialization process developed by them. The research was carried out among researchers from the National University of Santiago del Estero (UNSE), the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) and the research group on Agroecology and New Social Cartography of Brazil (GPNCS). The social cartography allowed a mapping of the community and a reconstruction of the trajectory of the peasants struggles and disputes. Moreover, ethnographic techniques and document analysis allowed us to understand the social dynamics of the so-called “occupants” who occupied the land illegally. The research reflects the hegemony of capitalism, a producer of goods that with its strategies destroys the lives of peasants, displacing them from their territories and invading their productions with other cultures.
