Resumen

MORICONI, Martina. Industrial workers in arreglos: the fragmentation of a labor group under the government of the Alianza Cambiemos. Trab. soc. [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.40, pp.317-337.  Epub 01-Ene-2023. ISSN 1514-6871.

The purpose of this article is to describe the fragmentation process experienced by the workers of the former Jabón Federal factory (La Matanza, Buenos Aires) during the government period of the Alianza Cambiemos (2015-2019). By focusing on the perspectives of the protagonists, I will show the analytical power of the arreglos category, wich is frequently used in the context of industrial labor, to describe the transformation process of the working class condition during a period characterized by a powerful neoliberal offensive. With this category we can gain a situational insight into the circumstances that affected these workers and the range of thoughts, feelings, fears, personal assessments and tactics that they carried out to negotiate or resist the end of the employment relationship with the company. The selection of some particular stories will be a privileged way to understand the depth of the reconfiguration that, in many cases, was directly manifested in the passage from industrial workers to self-employed workers. Thus, it will be possible to understand how individualized relationships between the company and the workers are established and prevalent, in a scenario of declining collective organization.

Palabras clave : Industrial workers; Fragmentation; Arreglos; La Matanza-Buenos Aires; Jabón Federal Factory; Mauricio Macri's Government.
