This article will present the results of an investigation whose object of study was the configuration of the work of the pedagogical advisers, developed within the framework of the Final Integrative Work of the Specialization in Educational Counseling of UNComahue.

The analyzes constructed from the critical pedagogy were directed to knowing the tasks they carried out and the meanings that a team of pedagogical advisers from the city of Neuquén assigned to their work.

The purpose will be to show how the advisory work is configured from the institutional demand of the custody of the school order -awarding the advisers the role of commissioners- and the redirection of the behavior of the students quickly, when the daily school life is disordered -placing the advisors under the figure of "customer service"-. Tasks that are conceived by the advisers as non-pedagogical, producing a pedagogical frontier in the advisory work.
