Quasi-experimental study aimed to evaluate the effect of an educational intervention based on cognitive-behavioral strategies for coping with academic stress in students of a master's degree program of a Private University in Chimbote (Peru). The Cognoscitivist Systemic (SISCO) Inventory constituted of 29 questions, structured in 5 dimensions: stressors, physical reactions, psychological reactions, behavioral reactions and coping strategies was used as an evaluation instrument. The experimental group presented a significant decrease (p <0.05) in academic stress in the pretest - posttest evaluation.
