Since when, for what purpose and under what theoretical-pedagogical senses dance is taught in primary schools in the province of Buenos Aires are some of the questions that this article proposes to unfold. With the aim of evidencing origins and development of an educational discipline in the school context, this work takes up and synthesizes the main research findings “Dance and school. Educational perspectives in the province of Buenos Aires (1983-2018)”, presented by the author as thesis of master's degree. Emphasizing the different considerations of the teaching of Dance, specifically in the official educational documents produced between 1983 and 2018, taking as a reference the entry of specialists to primary level schools.
