Resumen

FARJI-BRENER, Alejandro G. How to write a scientific manuscript to scare away readers. Ecol. austral [online]. 2019, vol.29, n.1, pp.094-098. ISSN 1667-782X.

Given the importance of publishing in science, there are many papers that provide advice on how to write scientific manuscripts to be read by a large number of colleagues. However, there are few guides that describe how to write to scare readers away. Here I try to fill this knowledge gap, offering advice on how to write to get rid of most readers. Avoiding include a conceptual framework, burdening with specific and irrelevant information, building multiple rationale arguments without concluding any, killing the biology of the hand of the statistic, and comparing the own results with those of other works without any reason, are some of the suggestions which I propose for scare away readers. If, conversely, you intend to make your work known didactically to a wide audience of colleagues, I suggest you do exactly the opposite of what I propose.

Palabras clave : Learning by the opposite; Divulgation; Scientific manuscripts.
