This article reflects on the figure of the press journalist, and his practice in the context of the Information Society, addressing the phenomenon through the study of a particular case: the on online version of the newspaper La Capital, from Rosario, Argentine. Interactivity, multimediality and the birth of a new temporality, characterized by immediacy, are the characteristics that define online journalism and introduce changes in the figure of journalist. The purpose of this study is to recognize the socio- technical changes that take place in this new society and to reflect on how is redefined the media professional identity because of this new situation.
