In this paper we take care to give a brief account of what were those social and political conditions that led to the emergence of the artistic vanguard magazines in Brazil and Argentina, and at the same time, what effect did its intervention in public space. We will do this through a brief reconstruction of specific cases and significant for Latin America of the 1920s: on the side of San Pablo, we refer to Klaxon magazine, the Revista de Antropofagia, while on the side of Buenos Aires, we refer to magazines Proa and Martín Fierro. The work starts from of a reconceptualization of public space through the relationship between culture and politics, resulting in a novel registration of classical texts on the theme.
