Interactions with tactile interfaces and the propagation of haptic technologies have ceased to form a future horizon to be part of the present. In fact, numerous authors have devoted themselves to the analysis of tactile communication and haptic media studies. However, these researches have appeared in isolation and without evident linkage. Our notes will systematize and structure the emergent field of tactile mediation. Firstly, this paper will focus on socio-semiotic perspectives and researches that come from interface design and ergonomics (I). Then it will discuss archaeological tendencies on touch machines and their historical depth (II). Finally, attention is turned to the disturbing question about the political and normative nature of haptic technologies (III).
