RUBIN, Paloma y ARAOZ, Verónica. Trials of Celebrities in the Society of Hypermediatization: Discursive Circulation and Feminist Debates in Celebrity Exchanges. Astrolabio [online]. 2023, n.31, pp.6-6. ISSN 1668-7515. http://dx.doi.org/10.55441/1668.7515.n31.38955.
This article aims to characterize the mediated discursive exchanges between two public figures, Ana Rosenfeld and Florencia Freijo, in entertainment television shows and social media around a celebrity family trial in Argentina in 2022. From the analysis, we identify the presence of historical feminist demands in the interlocutors' thematizations about the legal process.
The metalanguage we use takes up the contributions of Social Semiotics and Celebrity Culture Studies. Our methodological strategy recovers Carlón's (2020) proposal to investigate discursive circulation. We also use his work on the status of enunciators relating this approach to the notion of celebrity. Through this articulation, we propose the concept of media identity to reinforce the repercussion of these spokeswomen. We characterize the interlocutions present in the discourses according to Veron's (1987) enunciative positions.
Considering the media outlets in which these public personalities are consolidated, and analyzing the circulation of their enunciations, we can identify the differences in their discourses. Thus, we see how an indirect dialogue is generated between them, where the lawyer of one of the parties, Ana Rosenfeld, adopts an informative and pedagogical stance towards "women" while the feminist activist, Florencia Freijo, makes a call for action to her pro-receivers.
