Democratization processes carried out in Latin America, particularly in Argentina, were crossed by conflicts and provisional arrangements that prioritized the political-institutional dimension. However, as a counterpart of this process, both discourses, those related to democratic transition and those related to the issue of human rights violations by state terror, delimited the possibilities of what can be put into words. This paper reflects on and analyzes the relations established between the consolidation of political democracy in Argentina with discussions about the emergency of the testimony as a legal and insider source for the reconstruction of recent past.
