Resumen

MARTINEZ, Ignacio. Ultramontane reform and disciplination of the parish clergy: Diocese of Salta 1860-1875. Andes [online]. 2017, vol.28, n.2, pp.00-00. ISSN 1668-8090.

This article studies the measures taken by Bishop Fr. Buenaventura Rizo Patron in the diocese of Salta (1861-1884) to reform the diocesan clergy according to ultramontane model of Church. It also discusses the resistance offered to those measures by priests trained under a gallican model and accustomed to take part -in the heat of the post-revolutionary politics-. to less institutionalized practices. The importance of the National Government support to carry out these reforms is also studied.
