This paper presents a critical analysis of Edgar Morin’s complex thought, a line of thinking of increasing influence in contemporary approaches to society and educa tion. The analysis begins with an overview of Morin’s thinking and its influence on educational theory, followed by an analysis of some basic assumptions and the narra tive that supports them. Then, some categories are proposed towards a reframing of complex thought in connection with a biblical perspective on education.
