Water, that precious commodity, scarce and not always easy to obtain has been a concern throughout history. In the eighteenth century the Enlightenment will propose measures to improve not only the collection and hauling but cleaning water supplied to the population. From the Iberian Peninsula the Bourbon dynasty made his concerns about sanitation and extend its American territories the new look of the Age of Enlightenment. From the documentation obtained in the General Archive of the Nation, of the Agreements of Extinct Cabildo and the Bandos of Good Government present efforts in Buenos Aires, Cabildo, governors and viceroys, combined to make the city a place which you could live and drink healthily.
