In this paper, we intend to reconstruct, through interweaving individual stories, the history of the first group of riverside residents of the city of Posadas (Misiones), relocated in 1983 due to the construction of Yacyreta hydroelectric Dam. Once concluded, the Argentinean-Paraguayan endeavour will force more than 50,000 people to modify their basic structure of relationships with the environment, their means of subsistence and social relationships.
