Resumen

COLOCA, Federico I. La arquitectura de Abra de Minas, un sitio con evidencias tardías/incaicas en la puna de Salta, Argentina. Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2017, vol.18, n.2, pp.245-256. ISSN 1850-373X.

The architectural evidence of Abra de Minas site, located at an altitude of over 4200 meters above sea level in Salar de Ratones Basin, the Salta puna, Argentina, is introduced. Abra de Minas is distinguished by a large number of architectural structures. In addition, the site has a wealth of archaeological material recovered from surface and stratigraphic contexts. Within the artifactual set the high concentration of ceramics, both Inca and that associated with later occupations of northwestern Argentina, stand out. The radiocarbon dates carried out to date confirm an occupation between the end of the eight century and mid-fifteenth century AD. As this was the first architectural study of the site, the spatial distribution and morphology of the enclosures (plant design, size, etc.) were analyzed and the materials and construction techniques of the structures described. Although there is prior evidence of occupation at the site, the morphological and construction characteristics of the architecture of Abra de Minas indicate an effective domination of the sector by the Inca empire.
