Resumen

STOESSEL, Luciana; SANTOS VALERO, Florencia  y  MARTINEZ, Gustavo. INITIAL RESULTS OF THE STUDY OF BONE TECHNOLOGY DURING THE LATE HOLOCENE IN THE LOWER BASIN OF THE COLORADO RIVER, EASTERN PAMPA-PATAGONIA TRANSITION, BUENOS AIRES PROVINCE. Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2020, vol.21, n.2, pp.159-172.  Epub 27-Abr-2020. ISSN 1850-373X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.37176/iea.21.2.2020.496.

In this paper, the initial results of the morphological and technological analysis of bone tools from the Late Holocene El Tigre, San Antonio 1 and Zoko Andi 1 sites, lower basin of the Colorado River, are presented. The study established that retouchers, awls and bevels were made from ungulate long bones. The technological analysis also identified two ways of making guanaco bone tools, where the retouchers would have had a particular production sequence. Though these analyses should be complemented with the study of the bone debris and use wear analyses, the information generated expands knowledge of the technologies – such as lithic and pottery – employed by these hunter-gatherers groups.
