This study it presents a reflection on the Theory of the Significant Learning tied with the activities of inquiry in the education of Sciences, establishing itself an approach between both. For this, it was become fullfilled presentation of some excellent points of the Theory of the Significant Learning, which if present related to the estimated relative theoreticians to the use of investigativas activities in the education of Sciences. Although these activities present different boardings, some characteristics are common they as, for example, the existence of an to be investigated problem; the emission of hypotheses for the pupils; the perception of evidences; the conclusion and the spreading of the gotten data, as well as occur in Science. The gotten results point some pertinent characteristics to the activities of inquiry in education, which if they relate to the Significant Learning, as the enrollment of the student, the emission of hypotheses, the resolution of problems, amongst others and it standes out the proximity between such activities and the mentioned theory.
