The improvement of the internet use has allowed the application of the ICTs as complementary tool on education. The aim of this research was to evaluate whether and how Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have been used as complementary tool on histology teaching in Brazilian Centerwest and Northeast Dentistry courses. At first, using the Ministry of Education online databank, the courses webpages were found and evaluated. Later, on online questionnaires were sent to histology professors via SurveyMonkey®. Based on the evaluation of 58 Dentistry courses websites, it was observed that 51 courses (87.9%) presented its own histology webpages, in addition, three others (5,2%) used a blog or similar. According to the questionnaires sent to the professors, only five answers were received (8.6%), in which three of the professors mentioned to use restrict virtual learning environment to provide images to their students, one informed to not have a webpage due technical difficulties and only one assured to maintain a totally free histology website. Interestingly, all the professors declared considering ICTs as essential complementary teaching tool. It was capable to conclude that ICT are not being properly used on Histology teaching in Brazilian Centerwest and Northeast Dentistry courses.
