This article describes a student assessment computer system based on the DistSem method. The diagnostic system, Infosem, is based on the model of a semantic network. The nodes of the network make up the concepts proposed by the expert evaluator and the links represent the degree of similarity that the students attribute to the two concepts that join each link. One of the relevant aspects of the system is the visual interface which allows the inspection of the network that represents conceptual knowledge. A qualitative and a quantitative assessment has been implemented. The display allows the professor to easily interpret a student's answer. Numerous experiences have been carried out with university students.
