Resumen

MENDES, Luiz Otavio Rodrigues; JOLANDEK, Emilly Gonzales  y  PEREIRA, Ana Lucia. Wearable technologies and their possibilities in formal and non-formal education environments. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2020, n.26, pp.27-34. ISSN 1851-0086.

This study aims to highlight the potentialities and fragilities of the use of wearable technologies when employed in formal and non-formal education environments in Brazil. As methodological procedures we adopt a systematic review following the PRISMA parameters (Main Items to Report Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis). The analysis of the data is of a qualitative nature. As potentialities, our results indicate that there is a greater freedom in relation to the use of these devices, since most of them do not need to be connected to cables; motivation in their use as a device to improve learning and the possibility of inclusion of people with special needs. Regarding the fragilities, our results indicate that the components of wearable technology are fragile, sensitive, needing greater care and have high cost of the material, making access difficult. Our results also reveal that the potentialities tangentiate the possibility of working with wearable technologies in an inclusive way, allowing freedom and autonomy to the students in the use of the material and possibilities to collaborate in the motivation of the students in the classroom, since it is a technology compatible with the profile of the digital natives.

Palabras clave : Wearable technology; Teaching-learning; State of knowledge.
