FRACCHIA, Claudia Carina y BRAMARDI, Sergio. Programming contest: combining competitive and cooperative learning . Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2020, n.27, pp.56-65. ISSN 1851-0086.
The use of active methodologies, such as cooperative learning, has been beneficial for teaching and programming learning, both at the secondary level and at the university level. Given the challenge of combining the advantages associated with cooperative and competitive learning, programming contests arise as a teaching resource capable of promoting positive motivation and improving academic performance in the area of programming. Between 2014 and 2017, different programming contests were held at the secondary and university levels in order to generate theoretical and methodological contributions related to their use in educational contexts. The administration of different surveys and application of statistical methods allowed us to know indicators of motivational aspects and the use of learning strategies, which are related to tournaments and their impact, both in programming learning and in academic performance. In the case of this paper, the indicators that refer mainly to cooperative work are presented. The framework of the study carried out was the development of a doctoral thesis concluded at the end of 2018 in the Postgraduate Program at Comahue National University.
