ALMANDOZ, Patricia; BAROCHINER, Erika; DELMAS, Ana María  y  IRIARTE, Verónica. Teacher Collaborative Work for Full Virtualization of Technical English I (UTN- FRBA). Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2021, n.28, pp.93-99. ISSN 1851-0086.

This article describes the experience of teacher collaborative work for Technical English I virtualization (UTN-FRBA) as a result of the total interruption of classes on campus due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the city of Buenos Aires. This virtualization evolved out of an institutional decision taken some days previous to the beginning of the first term 2020 academic year, which has involved various technological and pedagogical challenges we shall describe in detail as follows. The main objective of our subject lies in the systematization of reading strategies to understand technical and scientific texts in English language. Our courses are made up of an average of 40 students. The course dynamics adopts the workshop mode, where reading comprehension is undertaken by students collaboratively and the teacher acts as a mediator of such reading comprehension. It is precisely this methodology of work that has posed the biggest challenge to virtualization. This challenge entailed adapting, redesigning and implementing the already existing material that sustained our pedagogic and didactic assumptions. As we shall describe throughout this article, the collaborative work of chair professors was essential to achieve our objectives and carry out this process.

Palabras clave : Full virtualization; COVID-19; Technical english I; Reading comprehension; Teacher collaborative work.
