The unexpected emergence of coronavirus pandemic and the consequent lockdown has made us to modify our teaching practices. This condition has become a great difficulty for Physics courses since Physics, as a factual science, demands experimental practice in its learning. We propose here an alternative that we call experimental video consisting in analyzing an event recording. We find this alternative particularly useful for mechanics practices. They are considered benefits and drawbacks of this proposal and it is also analyzed taking into account criteria from online learning. The proposal is also illustrated by considering a practice designed for kinematics and preliminary results are considered in the conclusions section.
