Resumen

PATANE ARAOZ, Claudio Javier; PIRAINO, Javier Luis  y  SUZANO, Néstor Omar. PC/QT-S3: A multicomponent site in the quebrada del Toro with "typical" lithic artifacts of the Puna. Identification of an new area occupied in the human peopling during the early Holocene. Comechingonia [online]. 2020, vol.24, n.2, pp.1-10. ISSN 1851-0027.

In this paper we present information obtained on a site (PC/QT-S3) located in the quebradadel Toro (province of Salta). Here we will analyze a lithic assemblage collected from the surface at that site. On the one hand, it will be presented a techno-morphological and morphological-functional analysis was carried out in assemblage. On the other hand, records of temporarily diagnostic artifacts from different instances of the Holocene (early, middle and late) provide basis for sustaining that the site was repeatedly occupied over time. Within the assemblage analyzed, stands out the records of lithic artifacts from the early and middle Holocene that generally are recognized in the Puna of Argentina and Chile. The first occupation of this site, based on a relative chronology, allows discussing the insertion of this site -and the quebradadel Toro- in the first instances of the human peopling in the province of Salta, beyond the Puna.

Palabras clave : Quebrada del Toro, Pampa Carachi, Hunter-gatherers, early and middle Holocene.
