DIAMANT, Ana. Starting steps for the construction of psychologists' professional identity at Universidad de Buenos Aires of the 60s. Anu. investig. [online]. 2009, vol.16, pp.163-172. ISSN 1851-1686.
Psychology became a profession while the professionals, who would later be involved in it, graduated. The first psychologists who graduated from UBA had to consolidate their identity in a pre-existing disciplinary field - mental health - which had been inhabited by other professionals. They had the challenge of originality, labor and academic adequacy, degree legitimacy and qualification. Vicissitudes of that path can be found in witnesses and protagonists' narrations when there were not graduated psychologists or approved activities or limited introduction fields. Deep generational changes are also recovered. Such changes occurred in a short time until arriving at the first experiences of psychologists teaching psychologists and establishing identification models that were transformed as the time went by. Until then, their instructors had predominant places that continued in the memories, among whom we can mention - although they are not the only ones - José Bleger and José Itzigsohn.
Palabras clave : Psychologists' training; professional identity; generational profile; recovery of witnesses' testimony.
