This article tries to explore how the crisis lived in Argentina in 2001 has been resignified by a group of objects and cloth producers, who refer themselves as designers. In this sense, we will focus on the perspectives that these producers have about the different dimensions of this crisis (economical, political, cultural, moral, etc.), on how it affected the course of their productive and professional activities, and their images about the future of their country. From the analysis of the ethnographic material -produced from open interviews and observations in design public events - it was possible to differentiate two main interpretations about the crisis. Even being perceived by the designers as catastrophe, chaos and uncertainty, at the same time, the crisis was also perceived as a chance, offering a favorable context for the development of their own enterprises.
