We are interested in showing how the Argentine Federal Police (PFA) builds its identity in tune with the social imaginary of each time. We will address the history of this institution in terms of what it builds as "others" in each time. We aim to identify times in its history that allow us to show relationships with the civil society and how police identity is socially built. Each moment will be put into relation with its conditions of production, linking government policies with police action. We analyse what the State understands at all times as dangerous classes. In this sense we deem necessary to link the State emergence to the violence of its founding gesture, considering violence as constitutive of political practice and founder of state legality. Each historical time will determine who are the "others" subject to be penalized, punished, imprisoned and killed by the State.
