This article analyzes the results of the implementation of a policy to guide research in an Argentine intermediate university. Given the emergence of various scientific policies that seek to direct research content and practices, we explore the design and results of the implementation of a university policy instrument. Through a quantitative and qualitative study, results indicate that the authorities of the university sought to promote interdisciplinary work and links with extra-academic actors from the immediate environment of the institution, stressing and questioning traditional features of university research policies.
