he Dry Legumes project of the Estación Experimental Agroindustrial Obispo Colombres has developed a new variety of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.), Desi type, named TUC 450. This is the first variety to be registered in this gene pool, in Argentina. In order to register the new variety in the National Register of Cultivars (RNC) and the National Register of Cultivar Property (RNPC), the description of morphological, phenological and sanitary characteristics was carried out. The evaluations were performed on plants from a trial located in La Ramada, department Burruyacú, province of Tucumán. The information presented in this work is mandatory for the registration of the new variety and allows its differentiation from similar ones.
