Resumen
RABINO, A. et al. Proposal of a new sampling design for regional inventory in the andean patagonian forest, Argentina. Quebracho (Santiago del Estero) [online]. 2012, vol.20, n.1, pp.5-14. ISSN 1851-3026.
The First National Inventory of Argentina's Native Forests (1998-2001) was carried out with a sampling design similar as those used in tropical rain forests. The design applied in the andean patagonian forest was not appropriate for the typical conformation of the forest types of the region. From it and in agreement with the Forest Service we worked on the improvement of the design for the region; it resulted in a design that we proposed to be used in the Second National Inventory. To carry out this task, a preliminary one stage cluster sampling was developed where many different combinations and sizes of fix circular concentric plots were experimented. Three different designs yield satisfactory on both, cost and precision and were better than the original sampling design, what results in an improvement of the general efficiency.
