Resumen

LUNA, C. V.  y  FONTANA, M. L.. Plant quality and morphological behavior of Cedrela fissilis Vell. in response to different production systems and nursery substrates. Quebracho (Santiago del Estero) [online]. 2020, vol.28, n.2, pp.145-158. ISSN 0328-0543.

Cedrela fissilis Vell. is a native species of the Missionary Forest, currently included in the endangered category of the Red List of threatened species and in the current Argentine forest legal framework emerged as an alternative to the practice of enrichment of native forests as a measure of recovery. The objective of the work was to generate information about the plant quality and morphological behavior of C. fissilis in response to different production systems and substrates in the nursery. Two production systems were evaluated: direct sowing and ringing in containers; and three substrates: sand, composted pine bark and vermiculite. The morphological behavior through diameter at neck height, total height, root length and their ratio was measured at 80 days after sowing; In addition, the quality of the plant through dried stem and root biomass, its relationships; proportion of root and aerial part, absolute growth rate, slenderness coefficient, Dickson quality index and death rate. Among the treatments evaluated, vermiculite as a substrate has favored total plant height, radical length, neck height diameter, lower mortality rate, dry weight of the aerial, radical and total part; absolute growth rate, slenderness coefficient and Dickson quality index; while analyzing the production system mostly the same parameters mentioned above were favored by direct sowing in containers.
