LORENA, Poblete. Battles against informality in Argentina (1990-2018). An analysis of policies addressed to the most vulnerable workers. Rev. Pilquen. secc. cienc. soc. [online]. 2022, vol.25, n.1, pp.49-77. Epub 19-Nov-2022. ISSN 1851-3123.
In Argentina, informality affects one in three workers. That is why formalization was consolidated as a central issue on the public agenda. This allowed the introduction, over almost 30 years, of a series of regulations that sought to combat it. From a sociohistorical perspective, this article aims to study the various regulatory responses adopted in Argentina since the 1990s. Analyzing changes in labor, tax, and social security legislation and parliamentary debates, this article focuses on different experiments for formalizing the situation of the most vulnerable workers: (1) self-employed workers, and employers and employees of small businesses, and (2) domestic workers.
