Resumen

ROZICKI, Adriana P; PERGHER, Gabriela  y  DE BATTISTA, Gabriela A. Quality control of pharmaceutical preparations of Hypericum perforatum L. traded in Argentina for use as psychoanaleptics. Rev. cienc. tecnol. [online]. 2014, n.22, pp.16-21. ISSN 1851-7587.

The Hypericum perforatum L. (Hypericum) is a medicinal plant, original from Argentina and widely used for its timoleptic properties. Medicines under national register containing Hypericum are sold under prescription. In this work we studied the quality attributes of tinctures, tablets and herbal drug traded at provincial and national offices in dietetics and pharmacies. Quality studies were also carried out upon dry extracts obtained from this research. The chromatographic profiles of tinctures, tablets and dry hydroalcoholic extracts were coincident with pharmacopeia requirements. The highest yield of dry extract (17 % w / w dry basis) was the sample of Hypericum perforatum with higher contents in inflorescences and qualitatively (for TLC) in hypericines. Differences were found as regards the information contained in the primary packaging and labels regarding mandatory regulations. Drug plant and Hypericum preparations should be expended under prescription together with pharmaceutical professional counseling considering drug interactions presented in the Hyperic.

Palabras clave : Hypericum perforatum; Tinctures; Dry extracts; Psychoanaleptics.
