Resumen

CASTILLO, María Paula. Tentandi erant a spiritibus malignis: the commentary on the disciplinary chapters of the Franciscan Rule by Angelo Clareno. Scripta Mediaevalia [online]. 2024, vol.17, n.1, pp.71-91.  Epub 11-Jun-2024. ISSN 1851-8753.  http://dx.doi.org/10.48162/rev.35.037.

Brother Angelo Clareno's life was crossed by various vicissitudes related to his interpretation of the Christian message of Francis and his connection with the rigorist friars of the Order. This article intends to approach the analysis made by Angelo Clareno regarding chapters VII and X of the Rule of the Order of Friars Minor that we find in his work Expositio super Regulam Fratrum Minorum. We will seek to clarify what elements he dwells on, what is his interpretation of the discipline within the Order, what are the main sources he resorts to unfold his analysis and what conception he has of faults and their corrections.
