Resumen
SALAS ASTRAIN, Ricardo. Critical thinking and life's world in Latin American philosophy. Estud. filos. práct. hist. ideas [online]. 2007, n.9, pp.147-160. ISSN 1851-9490.
The purpose of this work is to outline a link between the "critics" and "life's world" categories coming from diverse theoretical traditions in order to prove that this crossing establishes a double question: an intellectual one-where the issues of critical thinking and of the life's world appear in the contemporary philosophic discussion-and another one relative to the social-political experience where the academic practices occur. The link between both categories reveals a specific kind of relation between knowledge and power. We pose that this link is politically and axiologically functional. Following this line, we give a context to critical thinking within the conflictive Latin American life's worlds, which are historical worlds, full of social, political and economic tension.
