Resumen
FARINETTI, Marina y ZURITA, Carlos. Montesquieu in Santiago del Estero: Fear and politics in "the Juarez" imaginary connections. Apunt. investig. CECYP [online]. 2015, n.26. ISSN 1851-9814.
We analyze the fear that fows through the arteries of Juarismo, a form of political domination in the Argentinean province of Santiago del Estero whose origins date back to the frst Peronism and the tradition of 'caudillism". We studied the common elements in the narrative of the provincial history and the stories of its caudillo, Governor Carlos Juárez, and his wife. We argue that a power frame built through "a structured discourse" involves the creation of sui generis power spaces and channels, additional to the power structure developed through a territorial organization even though these spaces and channel are of a very different nature. Montesquieu inspires us to think of the spaces and channels where the encounter between rulers and subjects occurs. Literature, particularly the Latin American magical realism, provides us with a form of knowledge of imaginary connections between power and poetry that directly finds a place in this text.
