Resumen

LAGUENS, Andrés. RE-THINKING THE ARCHEOLOGY OF PIEDRAS BLANCAS: THINGS, SPACES, PEOPLE, AND TIMES IN RELATION (AMBATO VALLEY, CATAMARCA, ARGENTINA; 6th-11th CENTURIES AD). Relaciones [online]. 2023, vol.48, suppl.1, pp.3-4. ISSN 0325-2221.  http://dx.doi.org/10.24215/18521479e044.

A state ofknowledge about the archaeology of the Piedras Blancas site, in the Ambato Valley, Catamarca, corresponding to occupations of Aguada societies between the sixth and eleventh centuries AD, is presented here. The available information is reviewed and a new approach to the site is made, rethinking it from another perspective that tries to include the possible native ontology in force at that time. It proposes an approach to the site and the problems posed by its particular archaeological record that takes into account in an experimental way the local ontology as their own theory about the world, considered on a par with our own anthropological and archaeological theory. From there we try to advance in an understanding as situated as possible of this case, focused on relationships between people and certain things, such as bodies, spaces in houses, animals and some objects, such as different kinds of vessels, from that perspective.

Palabras clave : Aguada societies; material culture; ontology; perspectivism; situated archeology.
