Resumen

CRENZEL², Emilio. Los derechos humanos, una verdad evidente de la democracia en la Argentina. Estud. - Cent. Estud. Av., Univ. Nac. Córdoba [online]. 2013, n.29, pp.73-91. ISSN 1852-1568.

This paper examines the process of establishing human rights as a «self-evident truth», a value that is registered in the local political culture, following the recovery in 1983 of democracy in Argentina. To do this, I will discuss three core processes: the renewal of the presence, in the mid-seventies of the twentieth century, of the culture of human rights at the international level, the characteristics assumed by the transition from dictatorship to democracy in the country and the major state initiatives deployed to deal with human rights violations and, finally, the formation of a heterogeneous human rights movement, tenacious, creative and with strong ties to the transnational human rights networks. It is proposed that these processes, driven by actors dissimilar nature, and deployed their actions at different scales and stages, were strongly associated. Finally, it is postulated a possible consideration of its impact on different joints and along the story to explain the intense presence of human rights since the return of democracy in Argentina.

Palabras clave : Argentina; Democracy; Human Rights; Evident; Truth.
