In this paper we propose to take the category of political cleavage to map the tensions that shape the representations of citizens about the political management of the pandemic in Argentina during 2020-2021. The objective is to identify continuities, updates and reconfigurations of political cleavages during the pandemic based on these perceptions.

Thus, taking the representations on political management and some socioeconomic, health and educational policies implemented by the national government, it is pointed out that the traditional cleavage Kirchnerism-Peronism vs. Anti-Kirchnerism-anti-Peronism continues to be valid, but it is updated based on the emergence of a third force that runs the cleavage and its positions to the right, reconfiguring the political field. At the same time, it is emphasized that not everything is explained by this binarism. Sometimes it is rejected. In adittion is indicated that some of the perceptions revolve around depoliticization and mistrust in democratic institutions and in "politicians".

The article is mainly based on surveys and interviews carried out with the general population, in addition to being supported by analyzes produced by members of the research project "Identities, experiences and social discourses in conflict around the pandemic and the post-pandemic” (Pisac COVID-19. R&D Agency).
