Resumen
GARILLO, Raúl. Terapia de resincronización cardíaca en la enfermedad de Chagas. Insuf. card. [online]. 2017, vol.12, n.3. ISSN 1852-3862.
Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) improves symptoms, reduces morbidity and mortality in patients with advanced heart failure associated with left ventricular systolic dysfunction, left bundle branch block and mechanical dyssynchrony, refractory to optimal pharmacological treatment. The beneficial effects of CRT have been consistently demonstrated in large clinical trials in patients meeting the selection criteria recommended by current guidelines. A population that has not been widely represented in the trials are patients with Chagas’ disease, where the most common conduction disorder is right bundle branch block (BRD), although other intraventricular disorders associated with BRD are consistent with benefits of CRT.
