Abstract. The present work aims to critically analyze the implications of the advance of the extractivist frontier through lithium mega-mining and the intensification of the processes of accumulation by dispossession typical of the current dynamics of capital from the description and analysis of the Sociopolitical processes that aroused in the community of Ancasti (Catamarca, Argentina) the installation of a project for the extraction and exploitation of lithium in rock (pegmatites). We intend to give an account of the local implications of lithium exploitation projects, the strategies of resistance, and alternatives to development undertaken by the communities in coordination with the socio-environmental assemblies.
