Resumen

LUCERO, Eliana N.; BERON, Mónica A.; GONZALEZ, Gabriela  y  DIANA, Anabella Noel. Osteobiography of an individual from the Middle Holocene, recovered at the Cerro de los Viejos archaeological site (Caleu Caleu Department, La Pampa). Rev. Mus. Antropol. [online]. 2020, vol.13, n.3, pp.07-22. ISSN 1852-060X.  http://dx.doi.org/http://doi.org/10.31048/1852.4826.v13.n3.27834.

Abstract The osteobiographical perspective allows to rebuild the life history of individuals in their bioarchaeological context, which in some cases have characteristics that stand out from the rest of the population. The aim of this paper is to present the osteobiographical information about the individual in the burial named CLV2, from Cerro de los Viejos archaeological locality (Department of Caleu Caleu, La Pampa). This locality constitutes a new research area that shows signs of initial human exploration, from, at least, the Middle Holocene to historical moments. It’s a well preserved simple primary type of burial, covered by a series of slab stones that also has an important mortuary trousseau. It was dated in ca. 6000 years BP. The results indicate that it’s a male, adult individual, whose lifestyle did not imply a high mechanical stress in relation to the use of the body. The individual had a local residence and a terrestrial diet, with minimal consumption of cariogenic food. The taphonomic history has revealed a moderate impact on the remains.
